Music Director

Barry Sinclair Salmon (Music Director) was born in Croydon Surrey. During the war his family moved to Haslemere where he was taught the piano by his father and sang in the choir of Grayswood Church where his father was organist.

1943-7 Chorister at Salisbury Cathedral. Head Turner i/c cathedral music. Piano tuition

1947-53 Choral Exhibitioner at King School Canterbury. Studied piano with Ronald Smith and organ with Malcolm Boyle. Sang with the school Choir and Choral society and Canterbury Choral Society. He played percussion with School Orchestra and Band.

1953-56 Choral Exhibitioner at St John's Cambridge. College Chapel Librarian and one of the conductors of the Chapel Choir. Sang with the Lady Magaret Singers during the Queens tour of Sweden in 1955. 1956 BA (Hons) in music.

1957-1959 RAF Flying Officer (navigator) 2i/c, Training Control, No  2 Air Navigation School, RAF Thorney Island. Conductor of mail quartet groups and broadcast on RAF Feltwell Station's radio.

Teaching

1959-60  Teacher in Music and RE, Bromley Technical  School for Boys. 1960-1 Supply teacher (Music, Science, Maths), Mortlake SC for Boys   1961-2. Director of Music, Pierrepont School, Frensham.                        1962-89 Head of Music Department, Woolverstone Hall School (ILEA), Ipswich.

Temporary MusicTeacher: King Edward VII School BSE (1989),  St. Benedict's RC School, BSE  (1991),and Holbrook County School l Ipswich    (1992)

1986-2003 Examiner and Moderator in GCSE Music, Edexel (Team Leader)1992-2003 Accompanist, Suffolk Count Music Service examinations.
